Addressing the Board of Education

Everyone benefits when proper procedures are followed, and the Buhler USD 313 administration strives to ensure the most efficient process when addressing questions, comments and concerns.

Buhler USD 313 is a site-based district. We suggest that you attempt to resolve issues or concerns at the lowest level possible before requesting resolution at a high level. For example, classroom issues should first be directed to the classroom teacher or administrator at your child's school.

If after doing this you would still like to speak with someone at the district office, call the Burkholder Administrative Center at (620)543-2258. In addition, there is a public forum available at each BOE meeting. Those who wish to speak to the Buhler USD 313 Board of Education are asked to notify the superintendent of schools as to the nature of the request. The superintendent will determine the proper steps to take. If necessary, the superintendent will place the matter on the agenda for the next regular school board meeting.

The board president, at his or her discretion, may ask those attending the meeting if any have concerns to bring to the attention of the Board of Education. If the matter has not been previously presented to the appropriate administrator for attention, the board, except in an emergency, will refer the matter to the superintendent for administrative attention and establish a date for a report back to the board.
