Leave Benefits
Full-time employees will be granted 13 days of Annual Leave at the beginning of each school year. Annual Leave will be pro-rated for any employee who works less than full time.
Annual Leave may be used for personal, sick, bereavement, or business leave.
Accumulate up to 80 days of leave.
Unused leave is paid out upon resignation, retirement and beyond maximum accrual of 80 days.
Vacation Leave
Employees with a 12-month agreement are granted paid vacation according to the following provisions: 5 days after the 1st and 2nd year of employment, 10 days after the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th year of employment, 15 days after the 10th year of employment and thereafter.
Paid Holidays
Employees who are consistently scheduled a minimum of 3.5 hours per day receive July 4 (1 day), Labor Day (1 day), Thanksgiving (2 days), Christmas (2 days), New Year’s Day (2 days – to be determined by the calendar), Good Friday (1 day), Memorial Day (1 day).
Employees are entitled to the paid holidays, which fall during the employees assigned work schedule.
Sick Leave Bank
Used for personal prolonged illness of the employee, prolonged illness of a member of the employee’s immediate family, or bereavement at the loss of a relative or close friend.
Only employees who contribute to the Sick Leave Bank may use the bank.
All requests will be sent to the District Office for review.
Maternity Leave
Each employee may be granted up to 12 weeks of leave for childbirth in accordance with Family and Medical Leave Act (unpaid leave).
Employees may request to use Annual Leave followed by Unused Accumulated Leave during maternity leave.
Term Life Insurance
Each employee is granted a Term Life Insurance policy values at 150% of their salary through KPERS.
Group Health Insurance
The district offers three tiers through Blue Cross/Blue Shield group health insurance. The Board of Education provides a fixed benefit towards the health insurance premium.
This fixed benefit will be prorated if the employee is less than full-time.
Group Vision Insurance
The district offers a four-tier vision plan through Vision Care Direct to employees with an agreement of at least 17.5 hours per week.
Group Dental Insurance
The district offers a four-tier dental plan through Delta Dental to employees with an agreement of at least 17.5 hours per week.
403(b) District Match
Each employee is eligible for a district match into a 403(b) retirement account with an agreement of at least 17.5 hours per week.
KPERS-Kansas Public Employees Retirement System
Employees will contribute part of their salary to put into KPERS. At retirement the employee will then receive a guaranteed monthly benefit for the rest of their life.
Kansas law requires that all eligible employees must be members of KPERS.
