Buhler, KS - Buhler’s defense played a key role in the victory against the Wildcats conceding just two rushing yards to Mulvane all night in a 28-7 victory.

Buhler’s defensive tackle Cash Carson kept the pressure on the opposing offense, ending the night with 3 crucial sacks.

Additionally, Will Hanen’s consistent tackling left Mulvane with little room to breathe. He finished the game with 13 tackles and a forced fumble. When asked about how his tackling affected the rest of the defense Hanen said, “It just gets them really hyped up because we were able to get a stop”.

Buhler’s defense started hot with a forced fumble on the first drive of the game, but the offense couldn’t quite keep up. However, the Crusader offense finally found a spark in the second quarter with rushing touchdowns from Nick Gazaway and Brenden Scripsick.

The Black Knight defense stayed strong up until the end of the second half only allowing one touchdown all game. The offense continued to shine towards the end of the game getting two additional rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter by Ben Clouse and Dylan Scripsick.

In preparation for the game against Augusta, Coach Warner shared how he plans to improve the offensive game plan for this coming Friday.

“We’re working to improve our passing attack; We’re also working to improve our offensive line, we had too many blown blocking assignments”.

Prior to the matchup, the Orioles were recovering from a hard-fought loss to Chanute 35-25. The Black Knights had the momentum going into their matchup last Friday and beat the Orioles 43-14.
