Missouri Welding Institute shares opportunities with BHS Students

Buhler, KS - Many colleges and universities set up recruitment tables at Buhler High School throughout the year, but today a representative from the Missouri Welding Institute shared opportunities with students.

Missouri Welding was founded in 1994 in Nevada, MO. They offer certification in Master Pipe Welding & Fitting, Master Structure Welding & Fitting, Advanced Pipe Fitting and other custom courses.

Junior James Frankenfield, pictured above, had an opportunity to talk with the representative from MWI.

“I have been stuck between wanting to work in health care or work in welding, so this was a good opportunity to find out more about the differences between these career fields,” said Frankenfield.

“I learned that everything like my books, tuition, metal and supplies are provided in the tuition costs for MWI. It seemed like it was pretty worth it to look into welding as a job opportunity or good life skill to have.”

Students have many options after high school. Welding is a popular CTE course at BHS. This year, 89 students are enrolled in courses that offer welding. Six students attend Hutchinson Career & Technical Education Academy.
