Did you miss our preschool application clinics?! Apply to add your child's name to our waitlist. In-district 4 year olds receive first priority. As we sit on April 21st many of our waitlist will have a spot after we ensure we won't go over our capacity later in the summer. Reno County schools are rallying AGAIN as a TEAM of educators for a shared professional learning day called All Hands on Deck. Over 1,100 teachers, Hutchinson Community College instructors, and administrators will be on HCC’s campus on January 5th, 2026 for a day of workshops, keynote presentations, and networking opportunities. An integral component of this day is connecting 1,100 area educators with vendors both inside and outside of education. Vendor options include being a part of our vendor showcase and leading presentations for attendees. It’s a great opportunity for some serious exposure to a LARGE audience! 8th Grade Parent/Pre-Enrollment Night at BHS By Alyssa Penrose and Payton Thompson, BHS Journalism Picture by Natalie Oard, Mangonel Staff 8th Grade Parent/Pre-Enrollment Night is tonight, Thursday, March 6th from 6-7 pm in the BHS Auditorium. This is an opportunity for elective teachers to share about their programs and for 8th graders to pre-enroll for classes next year. Many current high schoolers shared tips for the incoming freshman as they plan for the next four years. Alyssa Campbell, a freshman at BHS, says not to forget about fun classes. “I would suggest they take at least one class that they know they will enjoy, because that really does impact your entire day if you have one class you are looking forward to.” Buhler High School also offers many extracurricular activities, such as sports, clubs, and performing arts, for students to try. “I love being a part of performing arts classes such as choir and band. I have built many strong relationships with people I’d normally never have a chance to know,” says Savannah Keele, sophomore. The students also shared that high school is not as scary as it sounds. “I would say to take classes you are passionate about because if you take an elective you don't like you are not going to want to put in the work for the class. I would also say that when you get to high school don't be intimidated by everyone,” said Mekenna Mendenhall, junior. Finally, the seniors provided insight as to what classes to take that will be beneficial for college. “Starting freshman year all the way to senior year take as many honors and college classes you can; this will help boost your GPA which some colleges are looking at more then the ACT,” said Claudia Taylor, senior. Enrollment Night will give students the chance to hear from elective teachers, as well as the BHS counselors. A course catalog will be provided, and students will have the option to select their classes for freshman year. Being a student at Buhler High School presents students with many opportunities inside and outside of the classroom. Be prepared to learn and try something new at BHS.
