Today marks the beginning of Teacher Appreciation week for 2022. We may be a little biased, but our teaching staff is second to none! They work so hard to meet the needs of each and every student. They collaborate with one another to do the most amazing things and provide amazing learning experiences. They are committed to excellence and directors of hope.
Our community has always been so supportive, but please help us show our teachers a little extra appreciation in your own way this week. Also, if you are a Buhler alumni feel free to use the comments to shout out a teacher or two you remember that are still on staff!
Today we got to celebrate! We recognized six people for retiring after long careers serving public education, our two Horizon Award Winners, and our two Kansas Teacher of the Year nominees.

Today is Administrative Professional's Day. One day does not seem like enough for all that these amazing individuals do in our offices.
Just a few things that they do for us:
Organize
File
Schedule
Plan
Host
Copy (Seriously how do they always fix the copier?!)
Coordinate
Comfort sick students
Comfort adults
Answer phones (At least one millennial in the district office is constantly impressed with their phone skills)
Smile
Thank you to each of these wonderful people for keeping the district running. We are so lucky to have each of them!
Our very own Buhler High School Jazz Band played for KASBO (Kansas Association of School Business Officials) today. Quite an honor!

Today is National School Librarian Day. We are SO thankful for each one of our library and media specialists! These exceptional educators obviously know their books, but their roles are much larger than when we were in school. They help us learn how to search online, teach us to find trustworthy information, teach STEAM and Makerspace, and so much more!
We are lucky to have them!

Congratulations to Aaron Napier, VP of Operations and Programming at Ad Astra Radio, on being named the 2022 Hod Humiston Award Recipient. This award is given annually to a Kansas broadcaster who has made significant contributions to the field of sports broadcasting as well as work in the community.
We greatly appreciate Aaron as the "Voice of the Crusaders." He shines a light on all of our programs and is a great supporter of all Buhler has to offer. Additionally, he has partnered with our Crusader Sports Network students to allow them to learn and experience what sports journalism is like in a real world environment.
Thank you and a much deserved congratulations!
