Wow! What an opening day for our Free Summer Meals! The process was efficient and the staff was so friendly and welcoming! Over 200 lunches and breakfasts were served today. We hope for another fantastic day tomorrow. If your child stopped and got a meal, we hope they enjoyed it as it looked delicious! SHOUT OUT to the amazing food service team and their leader, Robin McGlynn!

In addition to this week being Teacher Appreciation Week, today is also Child Care Provider Appreciation Day. Our Shining Stars and Cares Club directors and assistants provide fun, safe, and enriching environments for our PK-5th graders when their school day is over. Thank you for caring for our children! We look forward to adding more child care staff this next school year as we add about 90 birth-3 year old child care slots. #BetterTogether

Buhler will offer a FREE summer lunch and breakfast program this year. Between May 28-August 2nd families may drive up to Buhler High School and pick up a lunch and breakfast for the next day between 11:00 and 12:30. See the flier for details. Today is School Lunch Hero Day! Thank you to our cooks, bakers, kitchen managers, cashiers, and food service director. You keep our students full and happy and ready to learn! This program, now managed through Kansas Tourism, rather than the Kansas State Department of Education, provides free admission to many, many Kansas attractions. Just a few great day trips an hour or less away are: The Cosmosphere Strataca Field Station: Dinosaurs in Derby Wichita Exploration Place Botanica Rolling Hills Zoo Kenwood Cove Aquatic Park Salina Wichita Zoo Tanganyika Wildlife Park Wichita Windsurge Old Cow Town Museum in Wichita There is so much value here. What an honor it was to celebrate the year our new to Buhler teachers are about to complete! Last night our mentor teachers, administrators, and mentor directors had the privilege of hearing just a bit about the highly successful years each have had. Wow! There was laughter and happy tears and so many great stories about the work they do with kids each day. Buhler students and families are in great hands moving forward with this exceptional class of teachers! Hiring season is a great time to remember what we do as educators. We shape futures and here at Buhler our vision is that teachers develop generations of positive world changers. We currently have three teaching jobs available. BHS Spanish/ELA, PHMS vocal music, and Plum Creek 1st grade. Additionally, if you are not currently an educator we encourage you to consider starting your journey to the classroom. There are a few alternative pathways to teacher licensure that don't require seat time at a 4 year university.
